MLB Scout School • 2015
Formal scouting education
Successfully completed MLB Scout School, presented by the MLB Scouting Bureau in Phoenix, Arizona, in October 2015. The program provided formal instruction in professional player evaluation, the traditional 20–80 grading scale, present and future tool assessments, player projection, and scouting report preparation.
This education, combined with professional playing experience, forms the foundation of MBSA Group’s True Grade evaluation approach.
Approach
How experience shapes evaluation
Observe first
Reports start with what is seen live, in games and on the field, and are written plainly.
Grade with a standard
Every tool is graded present and future on the 20–80 scale, with the reasoning stated.
Stay independent
MBSA reports what it sees for the client, independent of where a player signs or plays.
